South India evokes sunshine, palm trees and spices. Chettinad, a very special area in this region, is the inspiration for our Summer 2020 collection. Usha, our founder, is a big fan of the Chettinad cuisine, and fell in love with the very special architecture of the region. Famous for the villas built by the wealthy trading & banking community, the Chettiars, this part of India has a tradition for making exquisite tiles called the Athangudi tiles.
This summer, discover the colors of Chettinad - stunning ochre, beautiful pinks, classic blue and shades of sunny orange. Imagine yourself on an early morning walk in a quiet village waking up to sounds of children’s laughter & smells of aromatic spices wafting from the intricately decorated Chettiar homes.
This offwhite round tablecloth in cotton is designed in Paris and hand block printed in India. Block printing is an ancestral technique from Rajasthan in the West of India. It consists of hand printing fabric using carved wooden blocks. The irregularities of the fabric add a unique character and make this tablecloth even more special.
Its motif will add a dash of colorful chic to your meals with your family and friends.
