Our indian khadi cotton scarf is designed in Paris and handcrafted with respect for the environment and Indian traditions in the region of Bengal, in the East of India. Khadi is a material woven and spun by hand from cotton, silk or wool. In India, it is a symbol of independence and resistance to colonial rule. Gandhi encouraged handmade textiles to set aside British factory-made clothing. Following this movement, each family was able to weave at home thanks to a wheel called "Charkha". More than a fabric, it is an “art de vivre", a symbol of independence and a return to essentials.
This 100% khadi cotton scarf is made of different fabrics, assembled using a handmade embroidery called a date stitch. This sewing technique is called patchwork.
Our products are handmade by artisans, each Indian scarf is unique by its artisanal weaving and can present small imperfections which make the charm and the authenticity of the ancestral weaving techniques which are used.
Chic and light, this Janis sarong is perfect for all your outings this summer. Its geometric pattern created by patchwork will bring a bohemian touch to your outfit. You will love its cut, its softness and its multitude of colors!
