Details
This new mustard yellow ethnic throw in wool was designed in Paris and hand woven by artisans of Kutch, in the northwestern state of Gujarat, India.
Indian artisans have practiced traditional handloom weaving for generations. People in villages often own a loom in their homes, which allows them to weave fabrics and scarves for friends and families, thereby giving them means to earn a certain degree of financial independence. Before making the fabrics, a weaver sketches a design that requires precise information about the number of threads to be used for each part of the motif, as well as the color scheme of the pattern.
The creative process is a challenge, a learning experience to solve a quality or design problem, and it develops and improves the skills of artisans who use ancestral know-how.
When Jamini works with artisans, we share our design sense with weavers who use their savoir faire to create unique pieces. It is a two way process of learning and sharing and enables both parties to contribute to the preservation of traditional art and craft.
Our products are handmade by our experts artisans, the small imperfections which can appear on our fabrics attest to the fruit of a manual and careful work.
Our indian scarf will brighten up your home with its ethnic motif in offwhite and charcoal black. Perfect for your sofa, this 39x78 wool throw will bring a boho-chic touch to your home decor. You can also use it as an indian scarf for these cozy winter days!
