Elsewhere, a piece of heaven in Goa

Elsewhere is the lovingly restored property that belongs to our friend and fashion photographer Denzil Sequeira. Elsewhere belongs to Denzil’s family since 1886. It was bought by his great grandfather and was used as a holiday home during the summertime. Subsequently, it went from his great grandfather to his grandfather and then to his uncle and finally down to Denzil.

STORY TIME

Denzil decided to restore the houses to make them as authentic and charming as possible in terms of the look and feel. The idea was to take people back in time and yet be comfortable. At Elsewhere, every little detail is refined and elegant without being ostentatious.

Thoughtful staff, immaculately clean spaces and delicate touches make the property a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Denzil decided to keep the the natural surroundings as he knew it in his younger days, so it remains the way it was, even in terms of the environment. « I really don’t think that there are any other beach houses anywhere in Goa which have been left exactly the way they were a hundred years ago » Denzil Sequeira

The resort is made up of four simple, but charming houses located on a private spit of land overlooking the ocean, separated from the rest of the world by a saltwater creek where fishermen and turtles are still to be seen. The access to Elsewhere is via a private, bamboo footbridge across the creek. Sharing the same idyllic beach as « Elsewhere Beach Houses », are « Otter Creek Tents ». These beautiful and comfortable tents are set up in the most tranquil of settings. All three tents are on the beach and face the creek, which runs parallel to the sea where tranquility, peace and purity prevail.
