Jamini x L’Atelier Plume

This is the story of a lovely encounter between Usha -founder of Jamini- and Claire -founder of L'Atelier Plume. Joined by a common passion for India, Usha and Claire have created a capsule collection that pays tribute to the craftsmanship and colors of this fascinating country. The range includes a jacket and dress hand embroidered in Bengal, made from khadi cotton, as well as a Dakota cuff, an iconic model by L'Atelier Plume. The collaboration is in line with Jamini's vision, in which know-how, craftsmanship and colors blend and intertwine.

Our bohemian jacket in khadi cotton is handcrafted with respect for the environment and Indian traditions in the region of Bengal, in the East of India. Khadi is a material woven and spun by hand from cotton, silk or wool. In India, it is a symbol of independence and resistance to colonial rule. Gandhi encouraged handmade textiles to set aside British factory-made clothing. Following this movement, each family was able to weave at home thanks to a wheel called "Charkha". More than a fabric, it is an “art de vivre", a symbol of independence and a return to essentials.

Our products are handmade by craftsmen, each khadi cotton jacket is unique by its artisanal weaving and can present small imperfections which make the charm and the authenticity of the ancestral weaving techniques which are used.

Soft and elegant, this indian jacket is perfect for all your outings this summer. Its madras pattern in blue and offwhite will bring a boho chic touch to your outfit. You will love its cut, its softness and its floral embroideries!
