This Janis blue khadi cotton scarf is designed in Paris and handcrafted with respect for the environment and Indian traditions in the region of Bengal, in the East of India. Khadi is a material woven and spun by hand from cotton, silk or wool. In India, it is a symbol of independence and resistance to colonial rule. Gandhi encouraged handmade textiles to set aside British factory-made clothing. Following this movement, each family was able to weave at home thanks to a wheel called "Charkha". More than a fabric, it is an “art de vivre", a symbol of independence and a return to essentials.
Our products are handmade by artisans, each cotton scarf is unique by its artisanal weaving and can present small imperfections which make the charm and the authenticity of the ancestral weaving techniques which are used.
With its pleasant touch, this 100% khadi cotton sarong, soft and chic, is perfect for your outings at the beach or in town. It will bring a touch of freshness and light to your summer outfit. All the shells, pearl buttons and tassels are handcrafted by master artisans for a unique piece that will be your favorite summer accessory.
Let yourself be carried away by its singularity and its sweetness!
