A moment of reflection with our founder Usha

This month of April as we take some time to reflect over a cup of delicious tea, we wanted you to get to know our founder Usha Bora. Usha was born in Assam, India's most well known tea-growing region. For Usha, tea is much more than just a beverage. Time spent sipping a cup of tea is a sacred moment, a moment for reconnecting with her roots, her culture, with her innermost thoughts and for feeling in alignment with world. We ask Usha how she finds a balance in her life as an enterpreneur, a woman and a mother.

As an entrepreneur and mother, how do you find time to recharge your batteries?

Organizing my time is essential to maintaining a healthy balance between my professional and personal life. I have always been an early riser. In the morning, before the day begins, I take time for myself. Whether it's listening to music, meditating or exercising, this time I spend with myself every day at dawn, is really important for me. I recharge my batteries, reconnect with myself and the things I love, in a calm and serene atmosphere. I surround myself with music and disconnect completely from the rest of the world. My trips to India are also precious moments for me. Although work-related, these trips are when I get inspired, breathe and take a step back. It's time for reflection where I seek to free myself from negative thoughts and cultivate positivity. Finally, spending time with my daughters is essential to my happiness. I have a strong and motivated team at work : I know I can count on them during my absence. This trust allows me to enjoy moments of escape where I can relax, be inspired and find time to be creative.

What advice would you give to Jamini women on how to find themselves and feel good on a daily basis?

For me, home is the essence of well-being, because it's where it all begins. If you don't feel good at home, it's hard to feel good anywhere else. My advice would be to surround yourself with things that bring you joy. Personally, I'm partial to scented candles, unique fragrances and cozy textiles. I  collect souvenirs during my travels, which allow me to escape from a daily routine and take me on dreamy trips to faraway spots. I also consider it crucial to take the time to prepare good meals. Even though I don't cook every day, I try to eat a healthy, balanced diet. As an Indian, cooking is a very important part of my life. Preparing delicious meals for family and friends helps to create a warm and comforting atmosphere. I want to convey this positive energy through my creations, reflecting the joy and vitality I feel every day. One of my aspirations is to celebrate women. As a woman entrepreneur and mother of two daughters, surrounded by an all-female team, I draw great inspiration from the strength and determination of women in my family. Women, through their position in society and the battles they fight on a daily basis, exude energy and inspiration that is unrivalled.

This month, Jamini teams up with the brand Tea Tribes. Can you tell us why this collaboration and what message you wish to convey?

For me, a partnership with Tea Tribes is a true story of the heart. Tea has a special place in my life, as I grew up in the heart of the tea plantations in Assam. I was surrounded by intoxicating scents and beauty of the tea gardens. In India, tea is much more than just a drink: it's a ritual, a moment of sharing and conviviality. That's why this partnership with Tea Tribes holds such special significance for me. Jean-Luc, the founder of Tea Tribes, and I share a common vision. His infusions, made with the best quality and organic ingredients, evoke the flavors of my childhood and bring back precious memories. I admire his work, his entrepreneurial energy and his attention to detail. This partnership is a unique opportunity to highlight our presence in the Art de Vivre space and celebrate life's simple pleasures.  Throughout the moth of April, I invite you to come and discover these delicious infusions in our store. I hope this experience will bring you as much pleasure and happiness as it does to me.
